The “Road to Reality” program will highlight the consequences of teen drunken and distracted driving.
The Plainfield Parent Community Network, District 202, and Plainfield Township are hosting the event.
This unique, powerful event will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2026, at Plainfield High School-Central Campus, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive, Plainfield.
All District 202 middle and high school students and their parents or adult guardians are strongly encouraged to attend.
They will witness several scenes showing the fallout from drunken driving, including a party, a car crash, a trip to the hospital, a coroner's visit to deliver the tragic news, and a sentencing in a courtroom.
Students will also hear from first responders, victims, and families about the impact of these tragedies. All parts are played by professional first responders, police and fire officers, and judges.
The Hidden In Plain Sight trailer will also be at the event. The trailer features a teen bedroom, which includes items that have significance to current drug and alcohol culture.
Participant groups will leave in 20-minute intervals, with the last departure time at 7:30 p.m.
Students must register online using their District 202 email address at https://www.plainfieldpcn.org/o/ppcn/page/road-to-reality, and middle school students must attend with a parent or guardian.
Space is limited to 500 participants. All students who attend will be entered to win raffle prizes, including iPads, iPods, and gift cards.
Please note: Some scenes and stories are graphic and may be emotional for participants.
