Twenty-two District 202 high school students won top spots in two prestigious art competitions recently.
Students at Plainfield High School-Central Campus, Plainfield South, Plainfield North, and Plainfield East high schools placed in The Scholastic Regional Art and Writing Awards and the Lewis University High School Art Invitational.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards allows 7th through 12th grade students nationwide to submit works of art or writing in multiple categories to win scholarships and have their work published or exhibited by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.
“Gold Key” works will now be considered for national-level recognition. National Medals will be awarded later this spring. The top entries at the national level will be displayed this spring and summer as part of the organization’s national tour.
