Fifty-seven District 202 high school student musicians will participate in the Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) District 9 jazz, choir, band, and orchestra festivals in November.
The senior jazz festival is on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville. The senior concert festival is on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Dundee Crown High School in Carpentersville.
The students were selected based on a competitive audition to perform in the District 9 festivals.
At the District 9 festivals, they will rehearse with top musical instructors before performing with other students from across the area as part of the District 9 choir, band, or orchestra.
The students will learn later this fall if they have qualified to perform at the Illinois Music Education Conference, which will be held in Peoria from January 28 to January 31, 2026.
