We are going to have a great year!
Many of you know me from last year, although some of you will be new to my class. My name is Mrs. Ramos and I have been working as a certified interpreter in the Plainfield 202 School District since 2012 for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing students. I decided to go back to school to earn my Masters in Teaching so that I could expand my career to teach the language that I love- American Sign Language. I'm so glad that I did and I can't wait to dive into our school year together! I have taught Levels 1-3 at Plainfield North, Plainfield South and Plainfield Central, but this year I will be teaching Levels 1, 3 & 4 in room C120 at Central only (Go Wildcats!)
You may notice some changes this year such as "voices off" and allowing your hands to do most all of the talking. "Why?" you may ask - because over the past two years you have been developing some crazy mad skills that need a little push to help you work towards fluency! If there is a moment where you do not understand or are feeling lost, simply raise your hand- I'll be happy to repeat what you missed or explain a new sign or concept until you feel comfortable.
Another change you may notice is this Teacher Page! Make sure to check this page frequently for resources, web links, vocabulary, study guides, and other important information.
Let's have an awesome year! ~ Mrs. Ramos
