Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
I would like to welcome you and your student to my class this year. I look forward to working with you to provide the environment, tools, and processes to help students achieve success.
Students should plan to be active in their learning throughout the year, focusing/listening, collaborating, working through lessons, completing warmups and examples, and resolving questions. Students will need to take full advantage of all tools as well as to spend quality independent quiet time making the math their own. Additional time outside of class will be required to complete the assigned homework for mastery, finalize and review the lessons, study vocabulary and concepts, and gain additional practice. I recommend reviewing notes for the current unit daily and using weekends to preview new material coming up in the next week and/or review material from the previous week. I recommend using a blank piece of paper to check for yourself the concepts that you truly know. Try it.
Throughout the year, I will make useful files available to you online using this website. Please gain familiarity with this website right away. If I need to reach you, I will use the contact information from the school's attendance system. If you need to reach me, email (firstname.lastname@example.org) is usually the best method.
Mrs. Constance Billerman
