Fifteen District 202 high school student musicians will participate in the annual Illinois Music Educators Association (ILMEA) All-State Student Programs for Band, Chorus, Jazz and Orchestra.
Participation in this event is one of the most prestigious honors in high school music in the state. The students auditioned virtually last fall for the state honor due to the pandemic.
Typically, students attend a multi-day conference in Peoria in January at which they attend workshops and perform concerts. However, ILMEA officials have not decided how this year’s festival will look due to the pandemic.
