District 202 will again host a series of discussions designed to improve relationships between teenagers and their parents.
District 202 parents with students in seventh through twelfth grades are encouraged to attend this free series based on the “Systematic Training for Effective Parenting of Teens” program.
The first discussion will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2020, in the media center at Plainfield High School-Central Campus, 24120 West Fort Beggs Drive.
The discussions will continue at 6 p.m. Tuesdays through March 24, 2020.
Josh Bloodgood, social worker at PHSCC, and Mendy Blake, a social worker at Drauden Point Middle School will facilitate the discussions.

The topics will focus on building responsibility and improving relationships between parents and teenagers.
All discussions will be based on the “Systematic Training for Effective Parenting of Teens” (STEP/Teen), a sequel to the “Systematic Training for Effective Parenting,” the most widely used parent education program in the country.
STEP/Teen encourages mutual respect between parents and teens through increased cooperation, more effective communication and a more responsible, self-reliant attitude among teenagers.
