What is the Seal of Biliteracy?
The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school, district, or state in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.
What are the benefits of having the Seal of Biliteracy?
It is beneficial to have the Seal of Biliteracy on your transcript in order to earn college credit.
How do you qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy?
In order to qualify for the Seal of Biliteracy, you must achieve a rating of intermediate-high on the Avant STAMP test and a score of 540 or higher on the ELA (English Language Arts) portion of the SAT or a composite score of 21 or higher on the ACT, or an AP test score of 4 or 5 in the language.
Which languages are offered to test for the Seal of Biliteracy?
The Seal of Biliteracy Avant STAMP test is offered in Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish
How do you register for the STAMP test and what is the cost?
In order to register for the STAMP test, go to the PSD 202 District Website and click on the test icon. The cost is $17.50
What are the testing dates and locations?
The STAMP test will be offered Saturday, April 13th from 9:00-12:00 at Plainfield Central High School & Plainfield North High School, OR Saturday, April 27th from 9:00-12:00 at Plainfield South High School & Plainfield East High School
Is there a registration deadline?
The registration deadline is two weeks prior to the test date (so March 30th & April 13th)
Do I need to do anything after I register?
To complete your registration and sign up for a specific test date & location, bring a copy of your receipt to the Creative Arts Department Chair in your building.
